OFSC September Community Meeting

Wednesday, 7:00-8:30 pm, Online

Join us for our monthly community meeting. OFSC board members are in attendance along with invited guests which can include representatives from the City of Oakland EMSD, OFD, CAL Fire, et al.  Community advocates discuss current issues and concerns with regards to wildfire safety.  Open forum, time permitting. AGENDA

September Presentation – Doug Mosher, OFSC Board Member Emeritus, will present on Red Flag Warnings: What they signify, how they are delivered and what response is required. This topic is presently very important as September and October are typically hot and dry months with high fire danger. Should weather conditions trigger a red flag warning, understanding the risks and knowing how to respond will help ensure smoother evacuations if a fire occurs. Doug will also host Vedant Thaker, a Fremont 11th grade student, who has developed a useful tool to help residents know if the red flag warning applies to their area and establishes a buddy notification system.

We welcome everyone from all Oakland and East Bay communities to observe, participate and/or get involved
