Session 4 of the “Savvy & Prepared Communities” Town Hall Series is about the importance of evacuation preparedness & planning, the Zonehaven system, and how to “Know Your Zone” with Zonehaven. With guest speakers
- Jessica Feil, Manager, City of Oakland Emergency Services Management Division (EMSD) will discuss the management of emergency evacuations and how it requires careful planning, coordination and execution on many levels.
- Daniel Findley, Planner III, City of Oakland’s Bureau of Planning will give a brief presentation on the City of Oakland’s General Plan Update – its goals, objectives, timeline, and ways the public can participate.
- Charlie Crocker, Co-Founder and CEO of Zonehaven Inc. (acquired by Genasys). In 2021, Alameda County acquired the Zonehaven application. Mr. Crocker will explain how this commercial software application is designed to help manage emergency evacuations and to better inform the community when and how to evacuate.
