Friends of Sausal Creek, Beaconsfield Canyon
This is our big summer workday to rid the canyon of as much fuel as possible, so the more volunteers the merrier. Last summer we filled the big dumpster. That’s what we’re going for again. Invite your friends!
A recent article in the SF Chronicle noted, “The larger Bay Area and Central Coast regions have continued to be spared from such extreme wildfires this season. But now historic high temperatures are drying out already parched grasses, shrubs and trees that are ripe to burn, firefighters and scientists say.”
Meet at 2639 Beaconsfield Place, just off Chelton Drive in Montclair. Walk in on the dirt road.
We supply gloves, tools, water, snacks. Wear long sleeves, long pants, and shoes or boots with good treads for slippery ground.
Please RSVP if bringing three or more people. To RSVP, obtain a liability waiver in advance, or for more info, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
